Breath Alcohol Test (BAT)
This measures the concentration of alcohol in a person’s breath using a Breathalyzer device. Results are expressed as BAC (Blood Alcohol Content).
- A BAC of 0.02 or higher is considered a positive result for DOT purposes.
- The legal limit for operating a commercial vehicle is 0.04 BAC.
